Montenegro named as must-see locale
Montenegro has been named as one of the world's top destinations by a major travel publication.
The Lonely Planet, which provides information and guides to travellers and backpackers, has positioned the country in its top 30 locations that people should visit.
Officials have been delighted by the decision, the ministry of tourism stating that it has recognised the progress made, reports the Balkan Investigative Reporting Network.
"This recommendation is a result of the Montenegrin government's well considered tourism policy, the country's dynamic tourist development and its intensive promotional activities on the international market," the publication reports the office as announcing.
In addition, the ministry noted the popularity of the Lonely Planet and how influential it is in steering travellers to locations - all of which could be great news for investors with rental property in the country.
According to the Mercian Travel Centre, the cost of living in Montenegro is far less than that of the UK, while its natural beauty makes it "a real gem, totally unspoiled".
