Malaga still popular with Britons

Britons are still rushing to buy properties in the Spanish province of Malaga, according to experts.

Kyero.com stated that the region was still highly popular among buyers from the UK, despite average property prices being above the national average.

Whereas a typical home in Spain would cost £168,112, the average price in Malaga is 26 per cent higher at £210,997.

The website added that the eastern province of Alicante was the area most representative of the national average, although it stated that some areas still offered a range of bargains.

Specifically, Cordoba, Albacete and Jaen were highlighted as places that offered cheap properties, along with Fuerteventura in the Canary Islands.

Meanwhile, Girona, Mallorca and Barcelona were said to be the most expensive regions, with the latter destination having average values of £422,614.

According to recent figures from Halifax, the average price of property in Spain has doubled in the last five years.
