Majority 'positive about Turkish government'
A new study has shown that most Turkish people are happy with the government in the country, according to new reports.
This marks a shift from around five years ago, the survey from Pew Research Centre found, reports Today's Zaman.
Now, 61% of the people believe that the government has a good influence on the country, the research contended.
This is significantly up from 7% in 2002 and is the largest increase in all of the 47 countries studied, the publication suggested.
Factors such as economic growth and increases in gross domestic product were cited as reasons for such an increase in the positive perception of the country in Turkey.
Additionally, 46% of respondents said that they are happy with the economic state if the country, new that may be of interest to potential property investors.
In related news, a series of nongovernmental organisations have announced that they wish the new government to begin fresh European Union entry talks.
