Italy attracts London investors
Properties in Italy are proving to be especially popular with investors from London, it has been revealed.
According to A Place in the Sun Live, almost two-thirds of people from the British capital look in estate agent's windows while overseas.
Research showed that Italy has become the most popular destination for this group, as it offers both investment potential and a warmer climate.
Amanda Lamb, presenter of Channel 4's A Place in the Sun programme, said the country's appeal has been boosted by affordability problems in the UK.
She commented: "I think more people are considering buying overseas now than before.
"250,000 people are leaving the country every year for good."
Ms Lamb, who owns a holiday home in southern Italy, added that this area is particularly good for those who want both lifestyle attractions and investment opportunities.
According to A Place in the Sun magazine, Italy is currently one of the top five locations for British property investors.
