Interest in Abu Dhabi tipped to grow
Abu Dhabi is likely to attract more interest from overseas property buyers over the coming months, experts have said.
Shelter Offshore believes the takeover of Manchester City by an Abu Dhabi-based company has put the region firmly in the media spotlight.
Rhiannon Davies, director of the organisation, said this means there will be greater public awareness about what it has to offer.
This, she predicted, could lead to more foreign investors choosing Abu Dhabi over more well-known emirates such as Dubai.
Ms Davies commented: "Many in the UK seem to assume that the only place of any interest in the United Arab Emirates is Dubai.
"Of course this is certainly not true."
She added that people who look at the Abu Dhabi market should find that offers better long-term prospects than Dubai.
The comments come after the United Arab Emirates was included in Jet-to-Let magazine's list of the most popular overseas property markets among British buyers.
This is the first time the country has been named as one of the publication's top ten investment hotspots.
