'Honeymoon' construction boom in Bulgaria

Construction in the Black Sea area is booming as Bulgaria remains in the honeymoon stage of European Union (EU) membership, according to a new report released by the Economist.

Additionally, economic growth is set to stand at 6% this year, the publication stated, reports novinite.com.

On top of this, some people are still waiting for the first benefits of EU membership to trickle through, such as farmers, it said.

Bulgaria joined the EU at the start of the year and many positives are set to come from this, it contended.

A number of foreign investors have been "pouring" money into properties, the Economist added.

Such a boom stretches from the aforementioned place to the area of Sofia and is fuelled by investors.

In related news, a new venture is set to be instigated between Hemus Air and Lufthansa Technique, on the Bulgarian market. The total investment is set to be about 20 million euros (£13.5 million), the news agency stated.
