Holidaymakers advised to look outside eurozone

Consumers from the UK have been advised to consider taking this year's summer holiday outside the eurozone.

According to the Telegraph, the British pound has now fallen to an all-time low against the single European currency.

This means that traditional holiday hotspots such as Spain, Portugal and Italy will be more expensive places for Britons to visit.

However, the newspaper said leisure travellers can still enjoy a pleasant holiday abroad if they look elsewhere and visit countries which offer more favourable exchange rates.

Morocco was highlighted as a particularly good place to visit, as it offers a good climate and competitive prices.

Furthermore, it can be reached from the UK in less than four hours.

The Telegraph commented: "The simplest way to avoid rising costs in the eurozone is to go elsewhere."

According to the Association of Independent Tour Operators, people in the UK now see a holiday as a necessity rather than a luxury.
