Holiday home buyer praises Turkey

A foreign property buyer from the UK has spoken positively of her decision to purchase a holiday home in Turkey.

Gloria Duffy and her husband Joe paid £40,000 for a two-bedroom apartment in the popular resort of Altinkum.

Speaking to the Sunday Mail, Mrs Duffy said they opted to purchase a Turkish residence after taking a holiday in the country three years ago.

She commented: "We were really impressed.

"The beaches were lovely, the landscape was really pretty, the people were so friendly and the cost of living was so cheap."

Mrs Duffy stated that after returning home, the couple decided to start looking for a holiday home in the country.

She added that that purchasing a property there is the "best thing we've ever done".

This comes after the Times reported that Turkey currently offers relatively low house prices, as a residence along the coast can be snapped up for just £35,000.

According to the newspaper, average property values across the country are much lower than the EU average.
