Highway talks 'due to start'
Talks are ready to begin regarding a new highway linking important routes in Bulgaria, according to reports.
Bulgarian transport minister Assen Gagauzov said that the regional development ministry is due to start concession talks regarding the development of the Cherno More highway, reports novinite.com.
Currently, talks are focussed on where the road will actually cut through, with the aim of avoiding the highway on Asparuhov Bridge.
Additionally, a viable way to connect Hemus highway and Cherno More is also being seeked.
The cities of Bourgas and Varna are also set to be connected via the link and this will eventually form a section of the International Corridor N8, news that may be of interest to potential property investors.
Such a route is hoped to solve the problems associated vehicles driving through the Stara Planina Mountain passes, the paper added.
In related news, Bourgas airport now serves 28,000 passengers each day, according to BTA.
