Globetrotters consider exchange rate movements
Consumers are increasingly taking exchange rate movements into account when booking trips abroad, according to industry experts.
Currency exchange firm Travelex said that a growing number of people are considering monetary fluctuations and attempting to mitigate their impact.
John Nicholas, director of the company, stated that people are doing this by opting to visit places which offer more favourable exchange rates with the UK, as the pound is now at a record low against the euro.
He commented: "The rising strength of the euro may have an impact as people look outside the traditional eurozone holiday hotspots to make their money go further."
Mr Nicholas added that people are becoming "increasingly savvy" with regards to fluctuating exchange rates.
This comes after David Kuo of The Motley Fool recommended that people who are planning to travel to a eurozone country should get their currency as soon as possible.
Speaking to the Metro, he said the pound is likely to keep falling in value before the summer.
