France 'still good value'

France remains one of the most affordable countries for British holidaymakers and property investors, it has been claimed.

The Telegraph states that France's accessibility makes it an enduringly attractive option for people based in the UK, despite the recent falls in the value of the pound against the euro.

Several travel experts have predicted that eurozone countries are set to suffer this year as Britons seek out alternative holiday destinations with favourable exchange rates, but the newspaper believes that France will remain a popular choice.

"Of all the eurozone destinations, France is arguably the most financially appealing, for one overriding reason: it can be cheaper to reach than its rivals," it explains.

The Telegraph recommends taking the cross-channel ferry as an affordable method of getting to France this year.

Shelter Offshore recently claimed that France can also be cheaper for those who own properties in the country.

"Taxes in France are lower and the climate is often better, meaning you spend less on heating and you can grow more fresh produce," the website explained.
