France recommended to foreign property buyers

Overseas property buyers have been advised to consider investing in the French market.

UK-based newspaper the Telegraph stated that house prices in the European country were much lower than those in Britain, which it said could make it a viable place in which to invest.

The publication highlighted the range of affordable properties in the capital city Paris and compared them with comparable buildings in London.

In addition, it said that overseas property buyers in France could benefit from its year-round popularity as a holiday destination.

The Telegraph also commented on this week's introduction of a new high-speed rail link between London and Paris, which it said was "speedier" than previous services.

According to the newspaper, this has prompted estate agents in France to predict that interest in the local property market will increase among Britons.

This follows a study by the Notaires de France which showed that British people account for almost two-thirds of French properties owned by people from abroad.
