France attracts more holidaymakers
The number of people taking holidays in France went up last year, according to government figures.
Data from the country's tourism ministry revealed that France attracted nearly 82 million visitors in 2007, reports Reuters.
This is 4% up on the figure recorded 12 months earlier.
Statistics also showed that 14 million of these were people who were visiting the country as part of a trip to various destinations.
The remaining 68 million were said to be visitors whose "final and main" port of call was France.
This will be a welcome development for owners of rental accommodation in popular French tourist hotspots, as it means many will be benefiting from greater consumer demand.
As a result, they could find themselves in line to collect higher returns on their investment.
According to the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, house prices in France went up by 3% last year.
