Foreign property buyers head to Albania

Albania is becoming increasingly popular with overseas property investors, a media outlet has revealed.

According to the Southeast European Times, the eastern European country is a largely untouched market.

This, it stated, means that it is attracting growing levels of attention now that the Mediterranean region has been fully exploited.

Albania was also said to be aiming to join Nato and the European Union - a development which could boost its housing market.

The Southeast European Times commented: "Experts confirm that EU and Nato integration processes will ensure considerable appreciation in real estate over the next 5 to 10 years."

Indeed, the publication stated that house prices could go up by as much as 30 per cent during this period.

This comes after the Jerusalem Post stated that a growing number of Israeli real estate developers are pursuing investment opportunities in Albania.
