Foreign markets 'more lucrative than UK'
Overseas property markets could be more lucrative investments than houses in the UK, experts have stated.
Advice website BuyAssociation stated that foreign countries tended to offer more favourable rates of capital growth to property investors.
In addition, the website said that overseas buyers were also more likely to benefit from higher rental yields than they would in Britain, giving them greater returns on their overall investment.
Paul Collins, overseas property editor of BuyAssociation, commented: "The opportunities for [making money] are much more extensive overseas than they are in the UK."
However, he added that many people were not buying properties purely for investment purposes, as some were choosing to use them as holiday homes for themselves.
According to the Association of International Property Professionals, almost £20 billion was spent by British buyers in foreign markets last year, mainly in countries such as France and Spain.
