Foreign investment 'good for Bulgarian economy'
Overseas property investment in Bulgaria has been beneficial to the country's economy, an expert has stated.
Steve Williams, British ambassador to the eastern European nation, said that the growing level of interest from foreign property buyers was widely seen as a positive development by Bulgarian nationals.
Speaking to the Sofia Echo, he added that while this had resulted in house prices going up in popular areas, there was enough available property to stop this from becoming a problem to local people.
In addition, he stated that those people who had moved to Bulgaria on a permanent basis were integrating well.
Mr Williams commented: "There are ever-increasing numbers of British nationals getting acquainted with Bulgaria and what it has to offer.
"It can only be described as a positive trend."
Bulgaria recently strengthened its international ties by becoming a full member of the European Union earlier this year.
