Flybe launches Dubrovnik route

European airline Flybe has launched a new route to Dubrovnik, part of a number of new continental flights that will be in operation as of the summer.

British passengers will be able to travel direct to Dubrovik from UK airports, extending points of access between the UK and Europe. Flybe is confident that its new service will prove popular among travellers planning to visit Croatia this summer while a selection of domestic and international destinations offers increased choice overall.

Having recently acquired BA Connect, the carrier has seen an increase in operations of late and expects these trends to continue as more passengers use Flybe services.

"Our ongoing introduction of new routes from the regions proves our commitment to the UK and sees us responding directly to consumer demand," stated Flybe chief commercial officer Mike Rutter.

Dubrovnik flights depart from Birmingham, where regular flights will be available direct to the popular Croatian city. A recent hitwise study found that Dubrovnik has seen a 130% increase in short break visitors since 2000, underlining its growing status as a holiday destination.
