Finance firm 'in Bulgaria investments'

KBC, the Belgian Financial Organisation, has stated that it wants to acquire new firms on the Bulgarian market.

The group, which owns DZI, said that it wishes to pump 2 billion euros (£1.3 billion) into the Bulgarian scene, reports the Sofia Echo.

Such news came after executive at the firm Andre Bergen spoke to reporters and said that the company is willing to take risks.

'In Bulgaria we have an insurance company ... if you want to be active in bancassurance you don't just need an insurance company," he told Forbes.com.

He added that any potential losses would not impact negatively on the company too hard.

Such a move follows the developments in Russia, where the company has already invested on the market. In the coming years, 150 branches should be opened there, it said.

Recent comments from Credit Centre suggest that the mortgage market in Bulgaria is in good health, the paper reported.
