Families plan holidays despite credit crunch
The credit crunch will not stop British parents taking a family holiday abroad, a new poll has found.
Research by MyChild.co.uk revealed that taking a summer holiday with the children is a priority for most mums and dads, despite the credit crisis and rising living costs.
The survey showed that 95 per cent of families are "definitely" or "very probably" going abroad this year.
More than a third were found to have already booked their holiday, mainly to European destinations such as Spain and France.
Commenting on the findings, Denise Roberts of MyChild.co.uk said: "Families are increasingly seeing the family holiday break as a necessity rather than a luxury."
She added that the summer school holiday period is still the peak time for family travel.
This comes soon after the Post Office reassured holidaymakers that although the pound is at a record low against the euro, Spain is actually the cheapest of all the countries in the eurozone.
