Expats 'attracted by Dubai tax breaks'
Dubai's favourable tax regime has been identified as one of its main attractions to foreign expats.
According to Shelter Offshore, people who relocated to the emirate are not liable to pay income tax.
This, it stated, means that many expats who want to get ahead financially find Dubai a very attractive proposition.
However, the website recommended that people respond to the increase in disposable income sensibly.
Shelter Offshore said many expats enhance their lifestyle to match their salary and end up failing to save any money.
"Don't fall into the same trap," it commented.
The online portal added that people must take this into account "from the outset" and be sensible with their finances.
According to official figures cited by Business24-7, the country is becoming more and more popular with foreign nationals.
Whereas the number of expatriates was rated at about 4.48 million a year ago, estimates suggest it could reach as much as 4.76 million by the end of 2008.
