European tourists head to Spain
Buy-to-let investors could find Spain a potentially lucrative market this summer, as many holidaymakers are set to flock there this summer.
According to Mondial Assistance, more than 1 in 4 European tourists are set to spend their summer break in Spain.
Many of these were said to be from the UK, with 30% of Britons opting to visit Spanish towns or cities.
The country is also likely to attract 33.1% of Swiss holidaymakers, as well as 28.3% of Germans.
Since more than a third of Spanish leisure travellers are choosing to stay in their own country, demand for rental accommodation in popular tourist hotspots looks set to be strong.
This means that owners of holiday homes and apartments could find letting them out to visitors a highly lucrative endeavour.
Earlier this month, a study by eDigitalResearch revealed that nearly three-quarters of British consumers plan to spend at least a week abroad later this year.
