Dubai 'offers potentially immense trading opportunities'
Dubai's rapid economic expansion has created "potentially immense trading opportunities" for UK-based investors, according to a new report.
The UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) organisation is holding a half-day seminar next month to promote investment in Dubai across a variety of sectors.
The AME Info website explained that the seminar will be attended by various business experts and officials who are experienced in trade with Dubai, with many businesses having set up in the UAE either for investment purposes or to create a regional base.
Dermot Shean from UKTI South East remarked: "Dubai is growing at a rapid rate and offers many business opportunities for companies, with exports from UK's South East Region reaching £349 million in 2006.
"We now organise an annual Market Visit to Dubai to explore the potentially immense trading opportunities," he added.
The UAE's policy concerning foreign investment is crucial to its attempts to diversify its economy away from oil-based revenues and increasingly into the services sector.
