Dubai airport expansion praised
Aviation officials in the United Arab Emirates have hailed the way the opening of a new airport terminal was handled.
The new facility at Dubai International Airport was opened last week, a development which represents potential for further growth in the sector at large.
Paul Griffiths, chief executive of Dubai Airports, said he was satisfied with the smooth opening of the terminal.
"In short, the opening went as planned and we are happy with the results," he commented.
However, Mr Griffiths insisted that no-one will rest on their laurels as there is still more work to be done.
Indeed, the facility is being opened in four separate stages in order to gradually open it up to worldwide destinations.
Mr Griffiths added that it is also committed to the "greater goal" of meeting and exceeding the expectations of its customers.
This comes after a poll by Arabian Business found that more than 8 out of 10 people were positive that the first phase of the opening would go smoothly.
