Cyprus sets up committee to help foreign residents integrate
The Cypriot government has announced plans to create a new committee that will decide upon a policy to help people who move to Cyprus integrate into their culture.
A wide range of stakeholders and government officials will offer their thoughts on how immigrants can be absorbed, including non-governmental organisations, representatives of immigrants, as well as the ministries for the interior, labour and social insurance, health and culture.
According to the Financial Mirror, the committee will "process a policy framework and a package of practical measures, which will be incorporated in an action plan for the integration of immigrants".
Last week, Neoclis Sylikiotis, a government minister, told the Cyprus Mail that the committee would ensure that the country's immigration policies fully comply with EU legislation.
International Real Estate Digest suggests that Cyprus is becoming an increasingly popular choice for retirement relocation, with many finding that it is "the right place to settle and live".
