Croatia EU entry bid gains support from Bulgaria
Bulgaria continues to support Croatia's possible entry into the European Union (EU), after recent comments by the president.
Georgi Purvanov said in a news conference that Bulgaria is an active supporter of the Balkans and the European perspective offered by his Croatian counterparts, reports novinite.com.
He was speaking as the Croatian president Stjepan Mesic arrived in the country on a 2-day visit, after being invited by Mr Purvanov.
In addition, Bulgaria will provide a good level of assistance and advice to Croatia in its bid to join the EU, the paper reports. Such news may be welcomed by potential property investors in Croatia.
Moreover, the Bulgarian president also stated that in the past couple of years, the number of goods being exchanged between the pair has increased, reports Focus news agency.
In related news, an agreement was recently reached between Croatia and the EU to restart talks regarding the country's possible entry.
