Confidence in UK property growing, expert notes

Britons are becoming increasingly confident about investing in property, it has been observed.

According to Jon Brown, partner relationship manager at change of address service iammoving.com, positive economic news is encouraging people to consider entering the market.

Buy-to-let property owners could see the value of investments rise in the coming months, as the expert predicted a growth in sales early in 2010.

"Increased lending and less chance of losses as housing prices stabilise" are encouraging people to think about making a purchase, while news that the US is out of recession is adding to confidence levels, said Mr Brown.

The comments come after the Land Registry identified an increase in the average price of a home in England and Wales.

Figures for September showed a 0.9 per cent rise on the previous month, with the typical property worth just over £158,000 - although this is still 5.6 per cent below a year ago.
