Calabria praised by university
One of the most popular investment hotspots in Italy has been praised by a local institution.
Piccola Universita Italiana is based in Tropea, a town located in the province of Calabria, a region that has become highly sought-after among overseas property investors.
The educational facility described the town as a "charming" place with a small population, before going on to highlight the benefits of the overall area.
Tropea's reputation as the "Pearl of Calabria" was highlighted, with the university saying it showed the affection that Italians had towards the region.
Meanwhile, the institution went on to compliment the natural attributes of the region, commenting: "Here, you find unspoilt natural landscape with lush green vegetation, forming a magnificent contrast with the deep blue, crystal clear water of the sea."
Calabria has recently become one of the most popular locations among overseas property investors, largely as a result of the airlines starting to offer services to the south of the country.
Italy is the most popular European holiday destination among older British tourists, according to a recent poll by Saga.
