Cabinet 'will be announced on Thursday'
Turkish prime minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan looks set to announce a new cabinet later in the week in a meeting with the president, according to reports.
On a meeting on Monday (August 13th), the current cabinet's last, officials discussed such things as the European Union membership situation plus domestic and foreign developments, reports Today's Zaman.
Deputy prime minister Mehmet Ali Sahin said that it is quite likely a new cabinet will be formed on Thursday, the publication added.
"The prime minister will meet with president Ahmet Necdet Sezer on Thursday. I do not know whether he will submit the new cabinet list, but I got the impression that he will," he told reporters.
Also on the agenda was who the AK Party will field as its candidate in the forthcoming presidential election.
In July, the party won the vote to have the most representatives in parliament, with 46.5% of the overall public vote.
Recent comments from Deloitte suggested that the Turkish investment market is very healthy.
