Bulgarian tourism 'growing steadily'
The number of people taking holidays in Bulgaria is increasing steadily, an expert has stated.
Property author Andrew Regan said that between 2000 and 2004, visitor numbers in the eastern European country went up by 50%.
Writing for Huliq.com, he added that this resulted in a surge in demand for rental accommodation across the country, particularly in areas such as Bansko and resorts along the Black Sea.
Mr Regan commented: "These areas provide a strong buy-to-let environment for investors."
He attributed Bulgaria's growing popularity to accessibility improvements during this period, such as the introduction of cheap flights from the UK.
This, he said, had enhanced its desirability as both a holiday destination and a market for overseas property investors, as the two countries were now "well-connected".
The comments come almost a year after Bulgaria became a full member of the European Union.
