Budget airlines announce new French routes

Continuing demand for transport to France has prompted two airlines to introduce new services from the UK.

This week, low-cost carrier easyJet has launched flights between Bournemouth and Grenoble - a city located near the French Alps.

According to the airline, the service should appeal to those who are planning to go abroad to indulge in activities such as skiing.

David Osborne, UK General Manager at easyJet, commented: "Grenoble is a perfect gateway for reaching some of Europe’s top winter sports resorts."

The city was described as a "picturesque, lively and cosmopolitan" location that offered numerous leisure attractions to visitors.

Meanwhile, Ryanair has announced that it will launch three new services to France from Dublin Airport in Ireland.

Flights to Brest, Rodez and Tours will begin operating in April 2008 and further opens up the French market to Irish consumers.

The airline stated that these services were likely to be very popular and booked up "in record time".
