BTC pipeline 'boosts investment in communities'
Communities located along the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline in Turkey have witnessed a sharp increase in social and economic projects as a result of the development, it has been reported.
According to the Hurriyet Daily News, the scheme has generated funds for a range of initiatives in 330 villages across 10 provinces, something that could be of interest to buy-to-let property investors looking at such areas.
The BTC Pipeline Company has provided financial and other support to non-governmental bodies delivering projects from Ardahan in the country's north-east to Adana, situated on the Mediterranean coast.
Addressing a press conference recently, director of BTC Turkey Can Suphi stated: "We pay attention to cooperating with people and local authorities as well as with the related ministries in order to have sustainable development."
The strong growth in British tourists visiting Turkey as a result of the weak pound against the euro was recently highlighted by the Daily Mail, which reported that a family has seen demand rise sharply for their property in Kalkan.
