Britons 'unhappy with quality of life'

Dissatisfaction with the quality of life in the UK is prompting many people to move abroad permanently, an expert has stated.

Paul Arthur, director of The Emigration Group, stated that a number of factors were fuelling the trend of Britons choosing to set up home overseas.

Speaking to the Southport Visiter, he cited crime as a major concern for people in the UK, along with the amount they paid out in taxes.

He added that some Britons were also unhappy with the current level of immigration.

Mr Arthur commented: "Many of the clients I advise are basically looking for a better life both for themselves and their children and they see emigration as a way of achieving this."

A recent study of expatriates by private healthcare provider BUPA found that more than two-thirds believed their way of life had improved since moving abroad.
