Britons 'take advantage of summer holidays'

A large number of Britons will be heading overseas this summer when children break up for their holidays, with the majority heading to Spain, according to the Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA).

The firm added that flights to places such as Turkey and Portugal are also selling well, reports Homes Worldwide.

A number of these people are heading to homes they already own in Spain, the body also claimed, news that may be of interest to potential property investors in the country.

President at the ABTA Justin Fleming said that there are great opportunities in the country for children.

"We all remember the excitement we felt when the summer holidays started. This year that excitement will be even greater as hundreds of thousands of families escape the rain for fun in the sun abroad," he commented.

In related news, the lifestyle offered in Spain is popular for British people, according to new findings from GE Money Home Lending.
