Britons 'still want foreign property'
Economic problems in the UK are not putting people off considering foreign investments, analysts have stated.
Currency specialist FC Exchange said property buyers in Britain are still looking at possible opportunities overseas as a result of the "turmoil" in the domestic housing market.
According to the firm, the recent fall in house prices has led to people becoming increasingly reluctant to invest in UK property.
In fact, it revealed that it has seen more interest in buying abroad over the last month than at any other point in the last year.
Nick Fullerton, managing director of FC Exchange, commented: "People appear to be keener than ever to buy property abroad and are looking for ways to tame the highly volatile currency markets to ensure they get the best deal."
He added that consumers believe the UK housing market will remain depressed for "quite some time".
This comes after the Association of International Property Professionals revealed that second home buyers in the UK spent £24 billion on property abroad last year.
