Britons seek new life abroad

People from the UK are moving abroad in order to make a fresh start, new research has revealed.

A study by Alliance & Leicester International found that four in ten expatriates left Britain in order to start a new life.

Many of these people cited issues such as wanting to change their lifestyle and improving their standard of living as two of the main reasons for going overseas.

In addition, 40% of respondents said they were tempted by the prospect on enjoying better weather.

However, others cited dissatisfaction with elements of their life in the UK as influential factors in driving them abroad, such as concerns over tax and the crime rate.

These were found to be issues among 33 per cent and 18 per cent of people respectively.

This comes after NatWest highlighted the improved level of access to foreign countries as another reason for international migration.

According to the financial provider, more people are moving overseas because it now easier than ever to travel between different parts of the world.
