Britons seek jobs overseas

More and more Britons are seeking employment outside the UK, according to a new study.

Research by NatWest revealed that a growing number of British workers are heading overseas to pursue new career opportunities and higher salaries.

Figures showed that more than 4 in 10 people who moved abroad in 2006 were professionals or managers, while another quarter were also in employment at the time.

Commenting on the findings, NatWest stated that a typical British expat is no longer necessarily a person who has retired to the sun.

Dave Isley, head of NatWest International Personal Banking, believes that the popularity of working abroad will continue to grow in the next few years.

He remarked: "This trend will increase as countries continue to seek out the talents of British workers and entice them to foreign climes with career opportunities and the chance to experience life abroad."

This comes after a separate study by NatWest revealed that people from the UK could see their salary go up by much as 43% if they move abroad.
