British investors 'looking at Morocco'

Morocco is proving to be a highly popular market with property investors from the UK, according to a media report.

The Telegraph newspaper said that the Moroccan government was aiming to boost its tourist trade and turn the country into one of the world's leading holiday destinations.

Meanwhile, it stated that Britons had been increasingly drawn to Morocco since the recent introduction of cheap flights from the UK.

These factors were said to have made it a very attractive option for overseas property buyers, as the growing tourism sector and government investment had enhanced its desirability.

The Telegraph commented: "Morocco has grabbed Britons' attention in 2007 - prices have risen by 15 to 20% this year."

Earlier this month, the country was also recommended as a potential investment spot by Canadian newspaper the Financial Post.

The publication stated that Morocco's economy experienced growth of 8.1% last year, up from 2.4% in 2005.
