British expat praises Morocco
A British expatriate has outlined his reasons for leaving his job in the City and relocating to Morocco.
James Bailey, who is originally from London, has been living and working in the north African country for more than a year.
Speaking to Building magazine, he stated that it offers a number of lifestyle advantages, such as friendly people and "perfect" weather conditions all year round.
The banker-turned-property developer also said the country provides a favourable environment for foreign investors, particularly those who wish to invest in real estate overseas.
Mr Bailey commented: "Since September 2007, investment in the Moroccan economy has grown 32.9%, despite the credit crunch."
He added that Morocco is more tolerant than many other Muslim countries, as people can drink alcohol women do not have to be covered up.
Morocco was recently flagged up as a potentially lucrative investment market by Homes Overseas magazine, which said house prices are likely to go up "significantly" over the next few years.
