Brazil 'weathers economic storm'

Brazil is not being negatively affected by the current problems in the global economy, a media outlet has stated.

According to Gulf Weekly, the South American country is "holding its own" despite the current economic downturn in the US.

This, it stated, is good news for overseas property buyers who have purchased a home in Brazil.

Gulf Weekly commented: "Investors can feel more confident about committing to Brazil for the longer term - the reason being is that its economy is showing signs of remaining healthy."

The publication added that the country is currently appealing to a wide variety of people, including lifestyle buyers, investors and retirees.

North-east Brazil was highlighted as one of the main hotspots for foreign buyers, as it is currently seeing record increases in property values.

According to industry analyst Amberlamb, Brazil's gross domestic product is expected to increase by 4.8% this year.
