Brazil promoting tourist attractions

The Brazilian Tourist Board (Embratur) has started a drive to attract more visitors to the country through promotional exhibitions and events in New York City.

Around 1.5 million people are expected to attend Sensational Sunday on August 31st, marking the 24th year of Brazilian Day in New York City, which will feature traditional music, dancing and food.

Photography will be used to raise awareness of the attractions of the South American country through a Beauty of Brazil Photo Contest put on by Embratur.

The organisation is asking people to send in electronic versions of pictures taken while visiting the country that best capture the "beauty and wonder of travel".

There will also be an exhibition of images from the Amazon taken by the award-winning photojournalist Peter Guttman.

Investors may wish to look into purchasing property in Fortaleza, the capital city of Ceara, which Brazzil Mag reports is a "cultural hub" as well as featuring beautiful beaches.
