Brazil praised by British expat

A British expatriate has spoken positively of her decision to relocate to South America.

Alison McGowan, a musician and marketing consultant from London, lived in Brazil between 1979 and 1984, before returning in 2002.

Speaking to the Times, she revealed that she was tempted to go back to the country because it offers a number of attractions.

She commented: "I always loved the lifestyle, the music, the climate and the spirit of Brazilian people."

Although Ms McGowan moved to Brazil in 2002, she did not buy a property until three years later, preferring instead to stay in rented accommodation.

She stated that the country's rental market offers "great value for money", as people can stay in "fabulous" locations at an affordable price.

This comes after the north-east of Brazil was described as a "hidden gem" by NuWire Investor on the strength of its economy and growing tourist trade.
