Brazil identified as 'major investment destination' in 2008

The Brazilian property market established itself as a major location for international investors this year, according to a leading property blog.

Raising the Roof, the overseas homes blog of the International Herald Tribune, states that Brazil "continued to attract major investment money in 2008", with a growing number of people buying property in the country.

The website claimed that Brazil proved to be the best-performing market out of several countries identified as emerging nations for property at the beginning of the year.

However, Raising the Roof also commented that the property market in Montenegro "made progress" throughout 2008, despite being unable to match the rapid development seen in Brazil.

The South American country has also continued to attract new holidaymakers this year, with the Times recently claiming that Brazil contains "the perfect beach for every taste".
