Booking a holiday 'is good for your health'

Booking holidays well in advance could have a number of health benefits, according to a media outlet.

Irish newspaper the Kilkenny Advertiser said that a large number of people tended to suffer the "winter blues" during January.

This has prompted the publication to suggest that consumers boost their spirits by giving themselves something to look forward to, such as a holiday in a sunny location.

The newspaper commented: "Not only will it save your already fraying nerves and calm the onset of Seasonal Affected Disorder, it will also afford you the time to pay off your trip."

A number of potential destinations were recommended to readers, including Morocco, Spain and several countries in eastern Europe.

Earlier this week, the Meath Chronicle reported that consumers in Ireland were opting to book their summer holidays early in order to avoid the possibility of missing out on a good deal this year.
