Black Sea airports 'popular'
The Black Sea cities of Burgas and Varna remain popular with almost 920,000 passengers having passed through their doors in July, according to Fraport.
German company Fraport has a 35-year concession for the two venues, reports novinite.com.
At Burgas, 564, 746 passengers were processed, which was a 11.2% increase on the corresponding time period last year.
Moreover, 355,014 people were processed at the other airport, the publication said.
These two international airports saw 11.2% of the company's overall number of passengers in June. In total, it processed 8.2 million passengers during the month, it said.
After winning a contract of concession at the airports in 2006, Fraport said that it plans to invest 403 million euros (£273 million) in expansion and improvement plans.
In related news, Easyjet, the low-cost airline company, recently announced that it is to start offering cheap flights between London and Sofia among a series of new itineraries.
