Better exchange rates driving tourism to Morocco
Poor exchange rates have led to families taking holidays outside of the eurozone in destinations such as Morocco, according to one family travel expert.
Traditional destinations, like France and Italy, have been abandoned for more affordable and exotic locations in North Africa.
Morocco is already earning itself a name as a luxury travel destination thanks to new developments from the Marriott International Group and Monte Carlo SBM.
Rhonda Carrier, editor at Takethefamily.com, said: "People are now choosing either to brave the UK with its uncertain weather, head outside the eurozone to cheaper but relatively close Eastern European or North African destinations such as Croatia and Morocco, or fly further in the search for luxury on a budget."
An article on ANSA med, revealed that air travel to the country has doubled in recent years leading to the creation of the country's first low budget airline, suggesting the countries appeal to budget travellers could be on the up.
