Benefits of Spanish property investment highlighted
Buying property in Spain represents a good investment for people looking to have a home abroad and in the UK, according to one person with first-hand experience.
Stephen Proffer, owner of the L'Artiste Muscle in Mayfair, London, spends his time equally in the UK and Spain and he claimed that one way into the market is by purchasing an older property that can be refurbish.
He explained to the Independent newspaper that bought an old three-bedroom apartment in Barcelona, expanded the kitchen and furnished it to give the interior a modern feel.
One particular advantage of investing in Spain is the short length of time it takes to travel there, Mr Proffer stated.
"[It] only takes four hours door-to-door. The flight's easy and there are never really any delays at the Spanish end," he remarked.
Recently, people considering investing in Spanish property have been advised seek legal advice before making their purchase, as non-resident tax laws have changed to as part of a campaign to cut out fraud from the market.
