Aviation sector opens up Romania

The introduction of new flights to Romania is helping to boost the appeal of the market among overseas property buyers, according to a media outlet.

UK-based newspaper the Telegraph stated that carriers such as easyJet and Wizz Air were currently in the process of rolling out additional services to the eastern European country.

The publication said the high frequency of flights, the ease of travel and overall affordability would help make Romania a prime market for investors and second home buyers.

In addition, it stated that the introduction of new transport links meant that Romania was "destined for success".

The Telegraph commented: "The measure of a good overseas investment property is not always how much the sun shines or how low prices are.

"Increasingly, we look at budget airline routes."

According to the Office for National Statistics, 848,000 people from the UK now own land or property overseas.
