Argentina 'best' for ethical tourism

Those considering an investment in property in Argentina could be set to benefit from an increase in tourism, as the country has been highlighted as being ideal for ethical travel.

Canadian publication the Gazette noted that people from around the world are continuing to travel, with the United Nations predicting that international trips will double over the next decade.

But tourists are also becoming more concerned with climate change and the news source stated destinations considered to be environmentally-friendly could benefit.

"With the public twigging to tourism's heavy environmental footprint, the travel industry is scrambling to paint itself green," it observed.

Argentina was cited as being top of the Ethical Traveler organisation's list of preferred countries, based on its "commitment to environmental protection, social welfare and human rights".

TripAdvisor recently described Argentinean capital Buenos Aires as being a "vibrant and culturally rich" city, suggesting that its distinctive neighbourhoods and the Teatro Colon opera house are among the factors making it particularly attractive to tourists.
