Albania set to attract more investors
Albania could be set to attract many more foreign property buyers, according to a newspaper report.
The Sofia Echo stated that the country offers a range of attractions including a low cost of living and continuing economic growth.
In addition, it was praised for its favourable tax regime which exempts people from charges on capital gains, inheritance and other assets.
However, the Sofia Echo believes that these positive attributes have not prevented it from being largely overlooked by foreign property buyers.
The newspaper commented: "This might be about to change - most experts predict that Tirana property values will show an annual growth of about 25% in the coming years."
This trend of upwards growth was attributed to factors including rising personal wealth in Albania, as well as infrastructure improvements and the arrival of major international companies such as Citroen.
Albania was recently recommended by the Foreign Property Buyer website, which praised its scenery, good weather and political stability.
