Albania 'offers capital growth potential'

Property investors in Albania could benefit from high rates of capital growth, it has been reported.

Journalist Christopher Watts was profiled by BalkanInsight.com after buying a house in the eastern European country's capital Tirana.

The news provider said that Mr Watts had been able to snap up the property for a relative bargain when compared with other parts of region.

However, the strong rate of growth in the market has led him to predict that this trend will continue, which means that investors will benefit from capital appreciation in the next few years.

Mr Watts commented: "I hope that the value of the investment will increase for the next 20 years as Albania aims to join the EU and the quality of life will increase."

This trend is being repeated across several eastern European countries, partly due to their growing popularity as tourist destinations.

For example, Montenegro was recently highlighted by Holiday-Rentals as a market that has seen a surge of interest from foreign property buyers over the last year.
